Due to reaching 80 percent capacity in our new building, that we have been in only since May, we went to two worship gatherings in September. Last Sunday, we had 206 in worship! This is the first non-special event Sunday that we broke the 200 ceiling. Since May, we have baptized 14 people with two more already scheduled for October. Each Sunday, we are having more and more first-time guests. Great things are happening at Redeemer Community Church!Area of prayer: October will be a huge month of community engagement. Instead of a localized fall festival, we are going back to the apartment complexes where we did Rock the Block this summer and hosting a one-day fall festival for the families. We will also be participating in the city-wide Treats on the Street on Halloween. We will also have a personal evangelism emphasis toward the end of October and November. It is going to be a busy few weeks for us.
Matt Scott and Redeemer Church are still only a little more than two years old. Matt has been through our application/assessment process and Alabama Church Planting Basics. Redeemer has received funding because of gifts from Alabama Baptists through the Cooperative Program and to the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering.
Pray for entrepreneurial planters across our state as they seek to reach the more than two million people in Alabama who do not attend any church.
Here is the email I received today from Matt:
