About Us

Whitlee and I married in 2013. We have two children, Abe and Lennon. We are both originally from Wetumpka, AL.

Our Call to Plant

I aspired to church planting while discerning a call to ministry in late high school and into college. I went to seminary and interned at a local church with the intention to be sent to plant, but came to recognize the importance of the local church. For 9 years, I have served as an associate pastor at Lakeview Baptist, and during that time, we, as a staff, have discerned a need to plant in north Auburn, where the need for churches is great. I have continued to aspire to that work, but now have the pastoral and congregational affirmation of Lakeview, as well as the opportunity before me.

About Our Church Plant

North Plains Baptist Church will exist to magnify the glory of God by gathering as a covenant people, growing in grace and truth, and going on mission to Auburn and to the ends of the earth. We hope to be a faithful witness to Christ and his gospel in the north part of Auburn, where felt needs are low, but eternal need is high. Our demographic is between a major university filled with college students and well-to-do families living in large neighborhoods outside of town.

How to pray for us

Leadership – We are discerning and vetting lay elders and volunteer ministry directors.

Location – We are working through options for meeting/gathering space that range in affordability and access.

Partners – We know that we will need to raise significant support with prayer, finances, and people, and we want to do that faithfully.
