Learn About Our Church
About Us
My wife and I met while studying at ACTS University in South Korea. After we were married, we moved to the United States as we followed God’s leading in ministry. We have two children: our son, Christopher, who is 13 years old and was born in Dallas, Texas, and our daughter, Elena, who is 10 years old and was born in Virginia. Our children have been a great encouragement to us and are an important part of our church planting journey as we build and serve the church together as a family.
Our Call to Plant
Our family relocated to the Huntsville–Madison area of Alabama in October 2024, and in January 2025 we began a new church planting ministry. For many years, my wife and I had carried a burden and vision for church planting. We were drawn to this area after receiving a sincere invitation from a small group of believers—only three members remaining without a pastor—who asked us to “begin again together with a church planting heart.” Through prayer and God’s guidance, we sensed His leading and came to serve in this community.
However, due to various challenges, that congregation eventually closed. Through this season, God clearly redirected us—not to continue an existing structure, but to begin anew in the true sense of church planting. From that point forward, the Lord graciously brought new families into our lives and allowed us to experience His faithfulness as we rebuilt the church from the ground up, centered on the gospel.
As Jesus taught, “New wine must be put into new wineskins,” our church seeks to become a biblical community marked by sincere faith and devotion, much like the early church. Our desire is to proclaim the love of Christ and the gospel faithfully, and to build a church that reflects God’s heart and purpose.
Today, together with the people God has brought to us, we seek to fix our eyes on Jesus alone as we engage in evangelism, pursue the restoration and healing of wounded lives, and serve our diverse and multicultural community. Rather than focusing on numbers or outward growth, we are committed to walking in God’s will with sincerity and faithfulness, trusting Him to build His kingdom through this church.
About Our Church Plant
My name is Jaeyun Lee, and I am a Southern Baptist pastor, a church planter commissioned by NAMB, and an adjunct professor of theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I serve as the founding pastor of The Blessing Church, a gospel-centered church plant serving the Huntsville–Madison area of Alabama.
Our vision is to be a biblical community shaped by the gospel, reflecting the faith and devotion of the early church. We seek to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ and express His love through faithful worship, intentional discipleship, and active mission. Rather than focusing primarily on numerical growth, our desire is to see lives transformed by the gospel and believers equipped to follow Christ faithfully in their everyday lives.
As a church, we are committed to evangelism, the restoration and healing of wounded lives, and intentional ministry to our multicultural neighbors. We aim to serve our community with humility and sincerity, trusting God to build His church and use The Blessing Church as a faithful witness to His kingdom in this region.
