About Us

I have been happily married to my wife for over twenty-seven years.

Together we have built a beautiful blended family with five wonderful children: Cordale, Roderick, Michelle, Victoria, and Lorenzo. God has also blessed us with eight amazing grandchildren—Braden, Cordale Jr., Kash, Callie, Grayson, Camron, Azariah, and Merci—who bring tremendous joy to our lives.

My wife and I are both from Montgomery, Alabama, and our story actually began many years ago when we attended high school together. What started as a connection in our younger years has grown into a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and a shared commitment to family and ministry.

Our Call to Plant

Five years ago, while I was living in Chattanooga, Tennessee and working at the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, my wife and I made a trip back to Montgomery to visit my mother in the community where I grew up. During that visit, something happened that would forever change the course of my life and birth my ministry.

A fifteen year old young man—someone our family knew was murdered right outside my mother’s house. The news of his death shook me to the very core of my being. Standing there in that very community where I had grown up, seeing the pain, the loss, and the brokenness around me, I felt something deep in my spirit that I could not ignore.

After our visit, my wife and I returned home to Tennessee. I tried to go back to life as normal—to my work, my routine, and the ministry I was already involved in. But something inside me would not settle. The more I prayed, the more God began to deal with my heart.

What started as a burden slowly became a calling. Every time I prayed, my thoughts returned to the same place, the streets where I had grown up, the families still living there, and the young men who were losing their lives far too soon.

God began to make it clear that He was calling me back home.
Not just to visit.
Not just to help occasionally.
But to return and pastor a church that would reach the very community that had shaped my life. That burden, that calling, and that moment of tragedy became the seed that God used to birth The Life Church.

What began as heartbreak over the loss of a young life became a mission to bring hope, healing, and the life-changing power of Jesus Christ to the streets of my hometown.

About Our Church Plant

The Life Church is a Christ-centered ministry in Montgomery, Alabama that exists to bring the hope, healing, and transforming power of Jesus Christ to people and communities that are often overlooked and underserved. Our mission is clear: Leading Individuals for Excellence by connecting them to Jesus and discipleship. We believe the church is not merely a place people attend—it is a movement of believers who are called to go into broken places and bring the life of Christ. At The Life Church, our heart is to see individuals encounter Jesus, experience true transformation, and grow into mature disciples who will influence their families, neighborhoods, and future generations.

Our vision is to build a disciple-making culture where people are not only saved, but trained, equipped, and released to live out their God-given purpose. We believe that when individuals are discipled, families are strengthened, communities begin to heal, and cycles of brokenness can be broken. Our mission field is the inner city of Montgomery, Alabama—a place rich with culture, resilience, and potential, but also facing deep challenges such as violence, poverty, broken families, and a lack of positive mentorship for young people. Many of the individuals we serve are searching for direction, hope, and someone who will believe in them. Through intentional discipleship, mentorship, leadership development, and community outreach, The Life Church is committed to raising up men, women, and young people who understand who they are in Christ and who are equipped to live lives of purpose and impact.

Our ministry seeks to meet both spiritual and practical needs. Whether through discipleship programs, youth mentoring initiatives, community outreach efforts, or movements like Kings & Queens Academy, HOOD Missionaries (Helping Others Obtain Destiny), and community revival efforts such as “Lord Heal Our Streets,” we are working to restore hope and rebuild lives. Ultimately, our vision is bigger than a single church. We are believing God to raise up disciples who will become leaders, mentors, and change agents—people who will carry the gospel beyond our church walls and help transform Montgomery one life, one family, and one community at a time.
