About Us
My bride and I are mostly empty nesters now. She teaches Pre-K, and is a 28 year veteran of the classroom. We have been married 34 1/2 years.
I also serve with Corporate Chaplains of America, as a corporate chaplain. It is a fantastic “dovetail” with church planting, as it puts me in the community in the middle of lost people and unchurched.
Our Call to Plant
My first church plant was in 1993. I pastored that for seven years, then for the next 19 years, pastored larger, established churches in and around the central Georgia area.
In 2019, I came to Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama, and pastored it for 3 years. I left that work not knowing at all what was next, but having no intention on planting a church. It was one of the more difficult times of my ministry life.
Many people from the Smiths Station/Phenix City/Chattahoochee Valley are approached me about planting a church. After agonizing prayer and conversations, my bride and I determined to launch Chatt Valley Church, which we did on June 26, 2022.
About Our Church Plant
Chatt Valley Church exists to reach and make disciples of Christ for the Valley and Beyond.
We sit in the middle of the Chattahoochee Valley. We believe God has put us in the Valley but also for the Valley. #ForTheValleyAndBeyond
We are committed to prayer, the faithful expository preaching and teaching of the Gospel, worship with energy, and multiple Chatt Groups (small group ministry) throughout the Chattahoochee Valley.
We do a ton of ministry in the Chatt Valley Community: 10 different schools, Valley Rescue mission, community events for free -Trunk or Treat, Pancakes with Santa, EggPalooza.
Long term vision is to establish ourselves in a permanent location that is not our destination but our staging grounds and launching pad to plant other locations around the Chattahoochee Valley.
How to pray for us
- Faithfully keeping an upward (God’s glory) and outward (the lost of Chatt Valley region) focus.
- Knowing God’s very best in finding a permanent staging grouds. We currently rent space at a local wedding venue where we meet on Sundays.
