About Us
We have been married since 2012 and have five children: Harper, Zane, Elliot, Wren, and Annmarie. Our family enjoys spending time together—whether throwing the football in the front yard, playing a game, exploring new places, watching a movie on Friday nights, or tracking down the best Mexican food we can find.
Our Call to Plant
Jordan Lee and I prayed about church planting for more than a decade before finally putting our “yes” on the table. After 15 years in ministry, 11 of those as a lead pastor, we couldn’t shake the urge to join the frontlines of God’s Great Commission. We are thrilled about the opportunity to plant Christ City Church in Huntsville by planting our lives in this rapidly growing city.
About Our Church Plant
Christ City Church in Huntsville exists to make and mobilize disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe the gospel changes lives, forms authentic community, and sends ordinary people on mission. Christ City Church didn’t begin as one person’s idea.
We are a church sent by City Church in Tallahassee, Florida, in partnership with Send Network and The Salt Network. After years of praying, preparing, and raising up a launch team, City Church Tallahassee commissioned us to plant a Christ-centered church in Huntsville. We are grateful to be part of a family of churches committed to making disciples and planting healthy churches across North America.
As Huntsville continues to grow, thousands of students, young professionals, military families, engineers, researchers, retirees, and young families are putting down roots in our city. UAH, Cummings Research Park, Downtown, MidCity, and the Village of Providence are all expanding. We believe God is doing something special here, and we want to be a church that faithfully serves our neighbors, proclaims Christ, and helps people take their next step with Jesus.
We love Huntsville because it is a city filled with opportunity, innovation, and people looking for community. Every time we take friends and family around the city, we’re reminded why so many individuals and families are choosing to make this city home.
We love the students at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama A&M, Calhoun Community College, and the other college campuses who are making important decisions about their futures and searching for purpose and direction. We love seeing the energy and growth around MidCity, where people gather, build friendships, and experience the life of the city. We love the neighborhoods stretching across Madison and West Huntsville, where young families are planting roots and building their lives. And we love the military members, engineers, researchers, and innovators who serve at Redstone Arsenal and throughout Huntsville’s thriving technology and aerospace industries.
More than anything, we love the people of Huntsville. Our desire is simple: to see Jesus at the center of everyone and everything.
We believe the next generation matters. While we desire to be a church for every age and stage of life, we are intentionally focused on reaching and discipling college students, young adults, and young families.
Through our partnership with the Salt Network, we are investing in the next generation because we believe today’s students and young adults are tomorrow’s church leaders, missionaries, parents, and community leaders. Our prayer is that many would come to know Jesus in Huntsville and be sent out to make disciples wherever God takes them.
How to pray for us
Pray for gospel fruit as our team engages our city and seeks to make and multiply disciples. Pray for our team, most of whom moved to Huntsville from far away, to make meaningful friendships and relationships in our new home. Pray for the Hill kids to know, love, and passionately follow Jesus.
